International Courses of Interpretative Violin Mastership

Participants: Invited to participate in the course are young violinists, pupils and students, aged between 15 - 25, who are being trained in musical education institutions in Romania or in Europe, Asia and America, and who wish to improve their violin interpretative art and technique. A number of 36 active trainees will be accepted.

Faculty: The courses will be held by internationally known masters: Liviu Prunaru (Professor at Yehudi Menuhin Academy, Gstaadt, Switzerland), Wen Zhou Li (Professor at Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, United Kingdom) and Florin Croitoru (Ph.D., University Lecturer at the National Music University, Bucharest, Romania). The mastership courses offer the opportunity for all participants to play in public as soloists, or with piano accompaniment.

Accompaniment: The accompaniment will be assured by Viorica Boerescu (University Lecturer at the National Music University, Bucharest),Vera Negreanu (University Lecturer at Gheorghe Dima Music Academy, Cluj-Napoca) and Lorena Tecu (pianist, Boston University, USA). Each of these pianists follow successful careers, specializing in chamber music and duo repertoire.

Classes and Accomodation: The courses will take place in the halls made available by the Sibiu Philarmonic Orchestra, according to a timetable to be announced. Accommodation and meals are assured by Aro Palace Dumbrava Hotel in Sibiu.

Fees: The participation fee is of 285 Euros per active participant, and 185 Euros per passive participant.
